TO OPEN THE FAN:
Hold the handle in one hand and the fan in the other. Gently pull the fan out of the handle bracket. Cup your hands around the fan and let it open slowly between your hands. Note: the fan will spring open with a loud "POP", if you simply pull the fan out of the hand bracket and let it go.

TO CLOSE THE FAN:
Easier than it sounds, especially if you're used to folding car sunscreens - this fan works on the same principle! With the labyrinth design facing you, grasp the edges of the fan at opposite ends. Let go with your left hand and turn the fan over towards you with your right hand. Grasp the edge of the fan again with your left hand. Now twist the fan, pulling your left hand toward you and pushing your right hand away from you, while pushing your hands towards each other. The frame will fold over into 3 small circles. Tuck the small circle back into the handle bracket to secure the folded fan.
